Ale jak to nie ma tematu o Thin Lizzy?
Absolutny klasyk hard rocka, niewątpliwie wpływowa grupa dla heavy metalu, dowodzona przez charyzmatycznego Phila Lynotta. Dużo klasycznego i klimatycznego bluesowego grania, a nawet funkowych numerów, ale nigdy nie brakowało im porządnego rockowego buta i chwytliwości. A wszystko okraszone fantastycznymi harmoniami gitarowymi duetu Gorham&Robertson. Przez zespół przewinęło się również kilku innych fantastycznych gitarzystów jak Gary Moore, czy John Sykes. Z kolei sam Lynott mimo, że nie miał jakiejś niesamowitej skali głosu, to nadrabiał charyzmą, która wręcz rozpychała się łokciami w muzyce chudej Lizzy. Zespół stanowiący inspirację dla niezliczonych muzyków metalowych, coverowała ich rzecz jasna Metallica, ale też Sodom, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Overkill, Running Wild. I po dziś pozostają kultem dla zespołów hołdujących starej szkole, zresztą wystarczy posłuchać Haunt, które z Thin Lizzy czerpie garściami.
Nagrali 12 studyjnych płyt, świetną koncertówę Live and Dangerous i masę rockowych hitów i hymnów. Wiadomo, każdy zna Boys are back in town, czy Jailbreak, ale to zaledwie skrawek długiej listy hitów, z których można by złożyć ze trzy składanki. Od Vagabonds of the Western World włącznie, to właściwie zespół bezbłędny, zespół bez słabego materiału. Może Nightlife i Renegade ciut odstają, ale dalej poniżej pewnego, wysokiego poziomu nie zeszli.
Lynott próbował też sił w solowej karierze i co ciekawe, gościnnie dograł się na trzeciej płycie Heavy Load. Śpiewał - "that's right I'm a rocker" i taki też prowadził styl życia, co odbiło się na jego zdrowiu i doprowadziło do śmierci w 1986 roku w wieku 36 lat. W Dublinie ma swój pomnik, a w 2020 roku wyszedł dokument Phil Lynott: Songs For While I'm Away.
Od śmierci nieodżałowanego frontmana zespół nie wydaje już płyt, ale czasem grywa trasy i koncerty z różnymi wokalistami.
