Rosyjski Moongates Guardian to chyba najlepszy obecnie tworzący zespół w klimatach ambient black metalu. Podobnie jak pewien austriacki zespół w tekstach poruszają tematy związane z tolkienowską nomenklaturą.
Mimo, że panowie istnieją niecałe 6 lat, już zdążyli natłuc 6 studyjniaków i kilkanaście różnych pomniejszych wydawnictw. Na szczęście długograje trzymają poziom i nie są kolejną kopią Summoning 1:1. Muzyka tworzona przez dwóch Rosjan ma bardziej charakter ścieżki dźwiękowej: więcej tu spokojnych, urzekających momentów, różnorakich melorecytacji i partii orkiestrowych. Słucha się tego bardzo dobrze, zwłaszcza teraz, gdy za oknem pada śnieg.
