Drowning The Light

Aż dziwne, ze tego bandu nie ma jeszcze na forum. 20 lat kariery, 17(!) albumów i masa innych wydań na koncie. Projekt prowadzony przez jednego człowieka - Azgorh’a, udzielającego się również w 11 innych zespołach. Ciekawą sprawą na temat Drowning of Light jest to, że nigdy nie wiadomo co dostaniemy podane na tacy, każdy album to niespodzianka pod szyldem Black Metal. Ostatni album - "Hunter of the Deep” to surowe brzmienie, z zaskakująco wesołymi riffami i chrapliwymi wokalami. Jest wyraźna perkusja, garażowe gitary, momentami klawisze się odezwa. Polecam dwa pierwsze utwory z płyty:

A to czasem nie on zasłynął jako Elephant Black Metal?

Googlowanko wskazuje raczej na meksykańską hordę jednoosobową zwącą się Drown in Solitude.

Bohatera tematu kiedyś tam słyszałem, co najmniej na splicie z Acherontas, być może też z Mutiilation i Szatanistycznym Warmajstrem, ale nie będę oszukiwał - nic z tego nie pamiętam. Jednak chyba nie zachwyciło, skoro dalej nie sięgnąłem.

Mam tak samo - gdzieś niby słyszałem ale nie pamiętam - nie wiadomo wina muzy czy mojej pamięci. Chyba czas dać im drugą szansę.

Mam gdzieś taśmę z którymś albumem i słuchało się tego jak efektu terapii zajęciowej. Nijako melodyjne, do tego w żaden sposób chyba nie skomponowane, utwory kończyły się w jakichś przypadkowych miejscach, jakby pan artysta stwierdzał nagle, że już się znudził. Wytrwały - ja bym się nudził szybciej.

Przy takiej taśmówce to nie może być inaczej xD Chyba, ze jakiś geniusz a'la Mozart. 11 bandów, full LP prawie co roku, przecież to nie idzie wydoić.

Kiedyś słuchałem sobie "From The Abyss" i nawet mi się podobało ale mnogość materiałów sprawiła, że nawet nie chciało mi się zapoznawać z resztą twórczości. Następny kontakt miałem dopiero przy okazji premiery "Cursed Below the Waves". Okładka zachęciła, ale chyba nie było to nic konkretnego bo z tego krążka absolutnie nic nie pamiętam. Ogólnie projekt raczej nie wyróżniający się na tle innych one-man bandów, nawet ciężko tutaj mówić o jakimś większym potencjale.

Ostatnio Azgorh się napracował i wydał aż 5 pełniaków na swoje projekcicho, a do tego jeszcze demka, które były alternatywnymi wersjami utworów z samych albumów.
Muzycznie Azgorh dalej się trzyma swojego nowego, w miarę Indie-Rockowego brzmienia połączonego nieco z ambientem oraz o dziwo folkiem, co czasem tworzy takie nieco psychodeliczne brzmienie, jak na czwartym pełniaku z sagi Conquer or Serve.



Moim skromnym zdaniem najlepszym wydaniem z tych nowych albumów Topienia Światła jest drugi pełniak z serii Conquer or Serve, słychać na nim to melancholijne, a za razem szybkie brzmienie.

I wielu innych czerpiących inspiracje z raw black metalu i Transilvanian Hunger.

Problem tkwi w ilości materiałów, bo ciężko przez nie wszystkie przebrnąć.
